Scaling Telink Mesh

Hello,

We are working on a smart lighting solution for residential and commercial buildings. Telink’s Mesh implementation is very stable. My only concern is the number of nodes in a network is limited to 255. As the mesh address is 2 bytes, so theoretically we should be able to allocate individual device address from 0x00 to 0x7FFF. I’m not able to understand the reason behind limiting the nodes to maximim 255?
